Okay, so this is my third blog featuring fortune cookies. I didn’t plan it, but it seems to be my theme for Chinese New Year this year. When I saw these chocolate covered cookies at the Je T’aime en Chocolat (I Love You In Chocolate) festival yesterday, I just had to buy them. It was the last day for the fourth annual chocolate festival at the Bonsecours Market in Old Montreal. These cookies are dipped in chocolate by Chocolats Favoris and includes their own fortune about love and chocolate. This one says “Love and Chocolate: this is how to stay youthful”. Everything in their showcase looked so good, but I had to fight temptation to buy more so that I could try out the goodies from the other vendors. Did I mention that there were free samples?
If you needed proof that chocolate fuels creativity, this was the place. The chocolates were works of art that you can eat. Chocolaterie La Maison Gourmande made the beautiful chocolates in the middle picture below. On the left are marshmallow lollipops by Bonneau Chocolatier and on the right are lollipops made out of Foie de gras (sorry, I didn’t get the name of the chocolatier). In the big photo below are meringue balls by Marius et Fanny. I had one covered in white chocolate and coconut. So good!
Speaking of works of art, one of the highlights of the weekend was the fashion show. I didn’t see it, but the cocktail dress below on the left and the wedding dress on the right, both made of chocolate, were on display.
Bad Monkey Popcorn stopped me dead in my tracks with its nut-free popcorn. The giant martini glass filled with caramel popcorn caught my attention. The flavors have fun names like Moroccan Melody, Monkey Mahal, Mix Bad Boy, Splash, and Bad Girl Mix. I bought a bag of chocolate popcorn which is going to fuel my writing in the coming days.
Does chocolate fuel your creativity?
I’m not sure if it fuels my creativity, but it certainly fuels me with happy energy 😀 I have to get myself to Montreal, these treats looks great!
If you’re a foodie, Montreal is the city for you!
I’ve heard it has amazing food 🙂 I’m definitely a foodie.
